What Wegovy costs without insurance in 2026

Novo Nordisk lists Wegovy at $1,349.02 a package and almost nobody pays that. Through NovoCare Pharmacy the self-pay price is $199 a month for the two starting doses if you are new to it, and $149 a month for the 1.5 mg tablet.

What that is based on

The 4 mg tablet was also $149 until 31 August 2026 and is now $199, and the 9 mg and 25 mg tablets are $299. After two fills the pen steps up to $349 a month and the HD pen to $399, from 31 December 2026. Those dates are on Novo Nordisk’s own page, and a price quoted anywhere else may already be the old one: this one changed on schedule.

NovoCare Pharmacy self-pay, re-read from Novo Nordisk’s own page on 3 September 2026. The dispensing pharmacy is CoAssist Pharmacy trading as NovoCare Pharmacy. List price is $1,349.02 a package for all three forms, and it sits behind a collapsed "Understanding list price"panel rather than next to the price you are offered. One of these dates has already passed and the price moved with it: the 4 mg offer ended on 31 August 2026 and that tablet is now $199. The $349 and $399 rates apply after the first two fills from 31 December 2026, so that one is still ahead of us. With commercial insurance a separate offer pays as little as $25 a month, capped at $100 of savings, and government beneficiaries are excluded. A month is not the same unit across forms: Novo defines it as 1 bottle of 30 tablets for the pill and 1 box of 4 pens for the injection.

Where you can actually get it

Three ways to pay cash for the same medicine. The cheapest price on the drug is not the cheapest way to get it, because two of these do not include a prescriber.

  • NovoCare, direct from Novo Nordisk

    $199 a month

For the two starting doses if you are new to it. It steps up to $349 after the first two fills from 31 December 2026.

    What that includes
    • The lowest published price on the medication itself
    • The same pen, dispensed by NovoCare Pharmacy
    • No membership and no care subscription
    What it does not include
    • A prescriber. You bring a prescription you already hold
    • The price after 31 December 2026, which is $349 and $399 for the HD pen
    • Anything toward your deductible if you are insured and paying cash
  • Sesame, with a prescriber included

$99 a month for the care

From $59 a month on annual prepay. Medication is a separate bill and starts at $149 a month.

    What that includes
    • A prescriber, labs and ongoing review
    • Same-day pickup at a local pharmacy or delivery, if prescribed
    • Named on Lilly’s own list of independent telehealth companies
    What it does not include
    • The medication, which is charged separately from $149 a month
    • Any guarantee of the NovoCare price on the drug itself
    • Controlled weight loss medications, which providers there do not prescribe

Referral fee. It never changes what you pay, or the order of these routes. How we make money

See Sesame pricing (opens in a new tab, we are paid a referral fee)
  • Through your insurance plan

    Varies by plan

As little as $25 a month on Novo’s commercial offer, capped at $100 of savings. Government beneficiaries are excluded.

    What that includes
    • The lowest possible cost when a plan does pay
    • No membership and no care subscription
    What it does not include
    • Any certainty. More than half of weight-management claims are refused at first pass
    • Speed. A prior authorization is a process, not a checkout
