Insurance coverage
Does my insurance cover GLP-1s for weight loss?
On most commercial plans the answer is decided by whoever buys the plan, not by the insurance company whose name is on the card. Two of the largest benefit managers say so in their own documents. Below is what each payer's published policy asks for once that choice has been made, with the date each one was read.

Asking about one medicine instead
Medicare and Medicaid
Neither is a commercial insurance plan, and each has its own answer on this site.
- Does Medicare cover GLP-1s? Part D has never paid for a drug prescribed only for weight loss. The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge is the program that changed what is available, and it has an end date.
- Does Medicaid cover GLP-1s? Medicaid is a state decision, so there are 51 different answers. Every one of them is read from that state's own formulary and dated.
