Medicaid coverage
Alaska: what Medicaid covers
Alaska Medicaid does not cover Wegovy, Zepbound or Saxenda for weight loss. Its July 17, 2026 provider letter restates that medications prescribed for weight management are not covered, and the state regulation says it will not pay for a drug used to treat obesity. Zepbound is the one exception in this group, covered for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea under clinical criteria, but not for weight loss.
