Nevada: what Medicaid covers

Nevada writes its drug criteria into the Medicaid Services Manual itself rather than into a separate document, and both criteria it writes are for something other than weight loss. Wegovy is approved for cardiovascular risk reduction and for MASH, Zepbound for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea confirmed by a sleep study. Saxenda is not named. Nevada moved every health plan onto one single preferred drug list on 1 January 2026, and that list does not name any of the three either. It says of itself that it only includes select drug classes, so the manual is the document that answers the question.

• Semaglutide Other indications only

  Wegovy is approved only for reducing major adverse cardiovascular events in adults 18 and over with established cardiovascular disease and a BMI of 27 or more, and for MASH

• Tirzepatide Other indications only

  Zepbound is approved only for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity, confirmed by a sleep study

• Liraglutide not checked

  Saxenda is named nowhere in the Medicaid Services Manual or the preferred drug list
