North Dakota: what Medicaid covers

North Dakota’s current preferred drug list does not cover Wegovy, Zepbound or Saxenda for weight loss. Wegovy is a non-preferred agent requiring prior authorization only for cardiovascular risk and MASH, and Zepbound only for obstructive sleep apnea. Saxenda is not named on the list, so its status is unverified. The state does have a weight-loss category and it covers the older drugs: phentermine, bupropion, naltrexone and topiramate are paid for without prior authorization when the claim carries the matching diagnosis code.
