Connecticut: what Medicaid covers
Connecticut is the clearest case on this page of why "covers obesity medication" and "covers Wegovy" are different sentences. State law requires Medicaid to cover FDA-approved weight-loss medicines for a body mass index over 40, or over 35 with another diagnosed condition. The amendment written to satisfy that law provides orlistat, Xenical and phentermine. It names no GLP-1, and it does not say they are excluded, so these three cells stay unanswered.
