Medicaid coverage
Colorado: what Medicaid covers
Colorado states the rule in one line on the list itself: prior authorization for GLP-1 analogues prescribed solely for weight loss will not be approved. Cardiovascular disease, MASH and sleep apnea each have their own criteria.
| Drug | Position | Criteria |
|---|---|---|
| Semaglutide | Other indications only | Approvable at 18 or over with established cardiovascular disease and a BMI of 27 or more, without type 2 diabetes. MASH has its own route |
| Tirzepatide | Other indications only | Non-preferred. Approvable at 18 or over for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea |
| Liraglutide | Not covered | The weight-loss exclusion applies. The preferred liraglutide pen is for type 2 diabetes |
