Oral GLP-1 receptor agonist

Orforglipron is a GLP-1 receptor agonist taken by mouth as one tablet a day, sold by Eli Lilly as Foundayo. The FDA holds it under application NDA 220934 in six tablet strengths. It is one of the three medicines the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge covers, alongside Wegovy and the Zepbound KwikPen.

- Chronic weight management in adults with obesity, or adults with overweight who also have weight-related medical problems
Compounding status
Approved and prescription-only. Because it is a tablet rather than an injection, the compounding question that surrounds semaglutide and tirzepatide does not arise in the same way: the FDA bulks-list proposal of 30 April 2026 named semaglutide, tirzepatide and liraglutide, and did not name orforglipron.
Sold through LillyDirect. It is covered by the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge at the same $50 a month as Wegovy and the Zepbound KwikPen, and unlike Zepbound it carries no KwikPen-only restriction on that program.
